Being the On-site Fishing Guru....When or has it already is New Molones gonna turn over....And is that when the Bite is ON???? When does the Kokone fishing start?
The lake hasn't turned yet. Weather depending,, it'll probably turn sometime next month, and yes it'll be time to topline.
Koke season is over 'till Spring. The one's that survived the fishermen are up river now,,, doin' it.
K.P. collected 1.4 million eggs in the last few weeks at Taylor Cr. and on the Truckee,, for next years kokanee plants.
Funny you asked today. I just got back form Glory Hole Marina. We(DF&G, Kokanee Power, and the Marina) put 400 lbs of 1/4-1/2# Browns in each of our two pens.
These guys are a lot smaller that the 'bows we raised last season, but they'll be fine fish come April.

Thanks....Got a 76' Enterprise Trihull...Got the downrigger and pole holder waitin for work....I thought it might be a good idea to hook(pun) up with Danny Layne for a rundown on the technique. Also want to try those fresh kings over at Don Pedro...Always fished in the bay with the boat...These be unchartered waters...Yuk,Yuk,Yuk....
Once the lake turns you wont really need the riggers. The fish will be in the top 15' or so. Save'm for Summer when the fish are down.
Danny is the best guide up here, IMO, and a GREAT guy to boot. A day spent with him is money very well spent, you'll learn more in a few hours than you will in a year on your own.
